Cara Gillespie and Danielle Klye met during their yoga teacher training at The Essence of Living International Yoga and Pilates Academy on the Gold Coast in 2010. They share the same passion for practising yoga and pilates within a lively community. Cara and Dani are loved and known for their friendly, welcoming natures. Their teaching is steeped in tradition but accessible to our modern lifestyles. They lead by example and are committed to empowering people to be the best version of themselves. Their own personal experiences are what motivates them to share their love of yoga and pilates.
Dani fell in love with pilates after her very first class with the amazing Michelle Merrifield at Essence of Living on the Gold Coast in 2008.
Essence of Living became a second home to Dani almost instantly as Michelle and the other teachers guided her on a personal journey of self growth. This was especially important at the time as she had just moved out of home for the first time from Tasmania at the age of 19.
Dani was soon participating over 10 pilates classes a week and becoming a stronger, more grounded and happy person.
A year later, in 2009, the opportunity to complete a 200 hour Pilates Teacher Training course with Michelle at the Essence of Living International Academy arose and Dani jumped at the chance, loving every second of the training. As soon as she finished the course Dani started teaching pilates classes at her second home; Essence of Living.
Dani loved teaching and practising pilates so much that up until 2009 she hadn't really given yoga much of a chance. But, whilst studying a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) stress was starting to get the better of her and she was searching for something more.
Dani then dived in head first into her yoga practice and soon after completed a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training course with Michelle and Clare Merrifield in 2010.
In 2012 Dani completed her Level 2 Pilates Teacher Training where she learned how to teach hundreds of exercises with the chi ball, pilates ring, fit ball, weights, thera band and her favourite apparatus; barre.
After teaching at Essence of Living and at many other locations on the Gold Coast for 4 years, Danielle made the move to Melbourne in January 2013 to complete the final year of her Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) degree at Endeavour College of Natural Health's Melbourne campus.
Dani opened The Collective Yoga and Pilates Studio in April 2014 and built a large following there. In early 2016 the opportunity to move her studio to a larger space and better location arose, and with it, the addition of a business partner in her good friend Cara Walsh. Cara and Dani founded The Daily Dose Studio in June 2016 and put their blood, sweat and tears into the renovation; transforming an old, empty shell into the light, warm and welcoming space that it is now. Dani can now call herself a successful business owner and hopes to continue to build and nurture the community that she and her amazing team of teachers have created so far.
As a yoga & pilates teacher, qualified Naturopath and certified Thai massage therapist, Dani is passionate about holistic health and wellbeing, and integrating body, mind and soul into everything she does.

I remember my mother sitting me down and asking me what I wanted to do for fun. Of course as a three year old I had no idea so she signed me up to dance. I am forever grateful to my amazing mother because from a young age I understood the benefits of doing something you love and living in a fit and healthy body.I decided I wanted to be a dancer and choreographer, starting a Bachelor of Performing Arts Degree. Unfortunately, I injured my back and could no longer dance; this was one of the most devastating times in my life. I decided to refocus my energy on acting and continued my Arts degree with the goal of becoming a secondary teacher.
In 2008 I had back surgery and the slow and painful recovery was exhausting. However I found I had renewed energy and decided to get back into dance and fitness. I started to teach dance and this new direction brought me so much happiness that I was inspired to expand my knowledge and become the best dance teacher I could be. This is where I found Yoga and Pilates.
Pilates and I have had a love affair for years. Pilates for me is the type of exercise I love. It tones and strengthens the body whilst offering mental stimulation at the same time. What is fantastic about Pilates is it is accessible to all walks of life- male, female, the elderly, the injured, pregnant women, children as well as the fit and healthy.
Yoga and Pilates have been entwined through dance for many years, so for me, the step to do a teacher training in this area was a natural progression. I have always loved Pilates but what I wasn't expecting was how much Yoga would resonate with my soul. As with most things, it came at a time when i needed it the most, when I found out my beautiful mother had breast cancer for the second time. For years my mother did a lot of research into diet, western and complimentary healing methods to help her battle against cancer. Whilst studying Yoga I found that all the changes I had made in my life to help the prevention of cancer were all interlaced in the Yogic way of life. Yoga has helped calm my mind, inspired me to strive to be a better person and taught me to respect my body and just breathe...
After finishing my Level 1 Yoga and Pilates teacher training at The Essence of Living International Yoga and Pilates Academy, I worked at the amazing Essence of Living Yoga and Pilates Studio on the Gold Coast for my mentor and guru Michelle Merrifield. Three months later Michelle guided me to start my own studio at Mt Tamborine. This was a dream come true for me and a fantastic learning experience.
Michelle would say "The only certainty in life is change", and I have since returned to Melbourne, opened up another thriving studio, expanded to host teacher training and taking on a mentorship role, host workshops and a whole range of classes, have continued my training with new qualifications in Level 2 Pilates, 500 hr Level 2 Essence of Living Yoga Teacher Training, Power Living Yoga Level 1 Teacher Training all whilst stepping into the new role of becoming a mother.
It is quite obvious that I am a serious multi-tasker, all the while doing my best to stay balanced mentally, physically and spiritually. This means that I am passionate about eating a clean and healthy diet, continuing my personal practice of yoga and pilates, and at the same time I also love to watch some movies and eat chocolate to keep it real.
This is a very exciting time as I create new knowledge and experiences. I feel truly blessed that I can share this with others and look forward to making new friends, learning new skills, and of course watching The Daily Dose Studio grow.
